The Atomic Cafe
It really does amaze me how an oject thats 20 feet in length can create total destruction that has a 20 mile radius. The beginning of this film was a bit horrific due to the music it played while the movie was displaying the "trinity test," the very first atomic bomb that exploded. So far throughout the documentary it gave me a feeling of horror thinking that we possess such weapons of destruction. A scene that really did make me think was when president Harry Truman was laughing at the matter of bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki and then when the camera rolls he seems indifferent if not guilty of the bombing. Honestly, how can a person laugh with being responible of killing one hundred twenty thousand people. Another part of the film is when the United States force the nomadic tribes of an island to move "temporarily," but in reality they were to never return to their home due to radioactive fallout. The documentary does an extremely well job in delivering the message that the bomb is to be feared.
